10 Non-Scary Disney Movies That Actually Terrified You Hardcore as a Kid
Everything about Disney is magical…except for the fact that sometimes it’s not. Well, at least when you’re a kid and a Disney film scared the living crap out of you! As we’ve seen in the past, the film studio likes to sneak some mature moments into its films, so who’s to say it wouldn’t get a bit extreme when it comes to certain scenes.
Believe it or not, some of Disney’s most iconic films like The Little Mermaid and James and the Giant Peach actually terrified their young viewers. Seriously, you guys! There’s an entire Reddit thread dedicated to the movies that weren’t supposed to be scary, but ended up being horrifying! Here are the highlights that’ll make you question everything you ever thought as a kid:
James and the Giant Peach
"James and the Giant Peach. The whole movie was so creepy to me." -yourefunnier
"Are you my brother? When we watched this as kids he disappeared within the first 10 minutes of the movie because he was so scared." -PanicNighTowl
"That movie always made me wicked uncomfortable. I'm glad I'm not the only one." -exxxsanguine
Clearly the general consensus is that JatGP was terrifying. And, guess what — we agree! The combination of live action and stop-motion animation was pretty confusing, especially for youngsters, and can we talk about the bugs?! *chills*
