The Disney Channel Spin-Off You Never Expected is Coming… & with the OG Star!

It’s the future she can see… and the future is lookin’ really bright right now, as one of your all-time favorite Disney Channel television shows is getting a modern-day spin-off over a decade after it first hit the air. And that DC TV series is… That’s So Raven!

According to Variety, the comedy, which aired from 2003-2007, is getting another spin-off — except, this time, it’s featuring the original star: Raven-Symone!!! The 30-year-old has been a controversial host of The View since 2012, making headlines for not the best of reasons. So, ABC sought to find a “low-key exit” for her… and, apparently, they found it via this currently-untitled project.

On the new show, which Raven is set to both star on and executive produce, “Raven is now a divorced mother of two pre-teen kids, one of whom has inherited her ability to catch glimpses of the future.” So far, Raven’s the only one confirmed to join the cast.

“Raven’s brilliant style of fearless comedy was a driving force for Disney Channel’s success around the world,” said Adam Bonnett, exec VP of original programming for Disney Channels Worldwide. Her performance [sic] on That’s So Raven is timeless. We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family.”

TSR already got a spin-off back in 2007: The two-season Cory in the House, featuring OG cast members Kyle Massey (Cory Baxter) and Rondell Sheridan (Victor Baxter).

Considering the recent success of Girl Meets World, the spin-off of ’90s hit Boy Meets World, it’s no surprise that Disney Channel’s trying to bank off viewer nostalgia again.
Hope the cast of the new Raven spin-off doesn’t have as many scandals as the OG cast:
