Demi Lovato Covers Latina, Talks Babies & Her Life-Changing 21st Birthday
Demi Lovato is Latina magazine's December cover girl, and is opening up to the magazine about a number of different topics including marriage, her recovery, and much more. Although The X Factor judge only turned 21 in August, she admits that she is ready for babies! (Well, sort of.)
When the topic of marriage and babies came up, Demi told the mag "I’m a Texas girl, so my instinct is to have babies early. In my heart I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s time to have babies!’ But it’s not. I have so much life ahead of me that I actually have to slow my roll. We’ll see where my life is in 5 years, but I definitely see myself as a mom in 10.”
Speaking of, while most celebrities spend their 21st birthday's with a huge bash, Demi went to Kenya to do charity work with the organization Free the Children. The experience was a life-changing one for Demi, as she said: "At one point this little boy named Ian came over. I picked him up and we just connected. He was just so sweet, and he kept saying my name over and over again. It was really hard to say good-bye to him. They also held a birthday celebration for me. They gave me a goat, which was pretty cool!”
In addition to turning 21, 2013 has been a big year for Demi. In May, she released her latest album Demi, has made a triumphant return to The X Factor, and even is guest starring on Glee. Though her character is a lesbian who shares a same sex kiss with Naya Rivera's character Santana, that's not what Demi wants people to focus on, saying “Yes, we kissed in the first episode, but I want people to pay less attention to the fact that I’m kissing a girl. Focus on the fact that having a young, multicultural lesbian couple on prime time is a huge step in our generation. It’s showing people that it’s okay to be who you are. Don’t be ashamed of it.”
