Demi Lovato is Reportedly “Okay and Stable” After Heroin Overdose
Demi Lovato was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital earlier today after reportedly suffering a heroin overdose. While her condition was not immediately known, sources tell PEOPLE magazine reports that the 25-year-old singer is, thankfully, “okay and stable.”
“LAPD and LAFD responded to a medical emergency at the 8000 block of Laurel View Dr. at 11:40 a.m.” the Los Angeles Police Department confirms to the mag.
TMZ reports that Demi was found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills home, where the overdose happened, and she was given Narcan, an emergency treatment for ODs, on the scene.
D.Lo struggled with drug and alcohol abuse in the past, but after going to rehab and living in a sober-living home she was able to get clean for six years. Unfortunately, the musician revealed that she relapsed in her new song, “Sober,” in which she apologizes for using again and promises to get help.
The last lines of the tune go, “I’m sorry that I’m here again / I promise I’ll get help / It wasn’t my intention / I’m sorry to myself.”
Demi has an army of people, including tons of her fellow celebrities, rooting for her recovery right now, and all we can do is keep praying and wishing her well.
