Demi Lovato Obviously Tries to Start S*it, But Fails to Get the Reaction She Wanted
It seems that every time celebrity drama stars, Demi Lovato is somehow involved. Within the past year, the “Confident” singer has managed to make Cailtyn Jenner’s transition about her, put a damper on Zendaya getting a Barbie doll, say she basically invented feminism, AND put herself on the same level as Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. Whew. But while Demi has somewhat kept her thirst level to a minimum lately, all that went out the door when she started ish with the rapper for — wait for it — not tagging her in a picture. Lolz.
Like most stars, Nicki posted a series of Instagrams following Monday’s Met Gala. In one, the 33 year old, designer Jeremy Scott and DL were all posing together, but Demi was the only one who did not get an @ mention. Not that big of a deal, right? Well, according to the brunette singer, the answer is HELL YES.
First, Demi commented on the post with three Emojis — the crying laughing face, the thumbs up, and the peace sign. Then, Nick Jonas’ tour mate posted a very interesting Snapchat not-so-subtly calling out the artist.
But as if that wasn’t already enough to get people riled up, Dem then finishing things off by uploading her OWN shot with the caption, “This picture pretty much summed up my first and probably last met #cool #sof*ckingawkward #notforme #sweatpants #forensicfiles #whatsgood.”
We’re not quite sure what Demi expected to happen as a result of posting this. Did she think people were gonna bash Nicki for not tagging her? Did she think her fans would shower her with praise and say she was too good to ever return to the Met Gala? She obviously expected something positive to happen, but was quickly bombarded with thousands of people calling her “petty” and “problematic.”

Demi's that type of person who'd whine and ask why she wasn't in your top friends list on MySpace pic.twitter.com/AoVpFJ8osq

Seeing as DL reference Nicki’s infamous VMAs quote to Miley Cyrus, we’re prettttty positive she was not just joking around — a claim that she later edited the post to say after she realized that many people were hating on her.
“p.s. some of y’all need to learn how to take a joke..” she eventually added to the Instagram. “I’m obviously laughing at the fact that 1. I look incredibly awkward and 2. That the shade being thrown in this picture actually gives me life”
Okay, Demi. Okay.
Just add Nicki to the (big) list of celebrities Demi has dissed in the past:
