Demi Lovato Admits She Was in Love with Joe Jonas at the Start of Camp Rock

Although millions of people shipped them together during their early Camp Rock days, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas were adamant that their relationship was strictly platonic. In fact, when one fan asked if she knew who Jemi was, she replied, “Yes, I know who ‘Jemi’ is… Hahaha… Neeeevvvveerrrr gonna happen.” Little did we know, things would eventually change

The Disney Channel co-stars eventually took their friendship to the next level and dated briefly in the spring of 2010, but, as it turns out, the 25-year-old secretly wanted Jemi to happen much earlier.

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer recently sat down with friends Sirah and Matthew Scott to watch some videos from her past, including scenes from Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.

The pals eventually came to the scene when Mitchie Torres (Demi) catches Shane Gray (Joe) playing the guitar for the fist time, which the brunette beauty admitted was the moment she “frickin’ fell in love with him…in real life.” Matthew then complimented her acting skills, to which she replied, “thanks, I wasn’t acting much.” Demi also said she had a crush on the 28-year-old the “entire time,” even when he had long, straightened hair and kindasorta looked like a k-pop star.

And let’s not forget about the infamous kissing scene in the Camp Rock sequel! Demi was equally as excited when it played, probably because it was also her first real-life kiss with the former Jonas Brother, too.

We freakin’ KNEW Demi and Joe had ~romantic~ chemistry from the very beginning of their Disney Channel days and no mount of denying ever made us think differently. Not to toot our own horn or anything, but…TOOT TOOT!

Like Demi and Joe, these celebrity couples started off as friends:
