Demi Lovato’s Assistant Feared She Was Dead After Alleged Overdose
Demi Lovato is reportedly set to leave Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the hospital where she was being treated for an alleged drug overdose, any day now and plans to check into a rehab facility straight away. Her decision to seek help is crucial to her recovery, especially since we are now learning more details about what happened the night of the reported OD.
TMZ reports that the 25-year-old’s assistant feared she was dead upon finding her unconscious in her bed following a night of partying. Sources tell the site that the singer’s bodyguard knew something was wrong and rushed over to her home only to find the assistant screaming, “She’s dead, she’s dead!”
While it was initially reported that her friends saved her life by administering Narcan, an emergency treatment for a known or suspected opioid overdose, it now appears that it was actually her bodyguard who took steps to save her life before the paramedics arrived.
Sources say he found D.Lo unconscious and not breathing laying on a bloody pillow. The “Sober” crooner had reportedly vomited, as well, and her airway was blocked. The site states that the guard “administered some sort of first aid to keep Demi alive before paramedics arrived.” This included propping her up and clearing her airway so she could breathe.
When medics arrived, they administered the Narcan and were able to transport her to the hospital for further treatment.
Thank goodness for Demi’s quick-thinking team and for the medical professionals who were able to save her life.
