All the Times Demi Lovato Dissed Disney Channel AND its Stars
Demi Lovato, like so many other celebs, started out as a “Disney Kid.” Like Hilary Duff and Miley Cyrus and newer actresses like Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter, the “Body Say” got her big break thanks to Mickey Mouse. Her first major role was in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock, which happened just before she also landed a role on the TV show, Sonny With a Chance.
When the 24-year-old left Disney to go to rehab for an eating disorder, mental illness, and other personal issues, she began to talk openly about her struggles with body image, bullies and growing up in the public eye. Although Demi came out of treatment better than ever, she decided to step away from her on-screen commitments, deciding that acting was too triggering for her. Ever since then, the brunette is constantly speaking her mind in the media, throwing shade at other celebs and rarely thinking twice about it. From Mariah Carey to the boys in One Direction, it appears that Demi really doesn’t care who she offends — and that includes the network that made her famous.
