Dancer’s Family Says She’s Not to Blame for Demi Lovato’s Alleged OD

By  |

Ever since news broke that Demi Lovato was hospitalized for an alleged drug overdose earlier this week, people have been looking for something (or someone) to blame. Was it her breakup with Wilmer Valderrama? Was it her friendship with Nick Jonas ending? But backup dancer Dani Vitale‘s family says she is not the reason the 25-year-old relapsed and almost lost her life.

One of the 28-year-old’s family members tells The Blast that Dani, who was on tour with D.Lo up until her suspected overdose and could’ve been partying with her the night it happened, is “far from a druggie.”

The source also adds that the redhead, who previously hit the road with DL and the Jonas Brothers on the Camp Rock tour in 2010, is a “health nut” and doesn’t supply hardcore drugs. She, the family member says, has no control over Demi’s partying habits.

Unlike many others close to Demi, Dani has stayed off social media since the alleged OD. This could be because Lovatics have been sending her nasty messages left and right, some of which include legit death threats.

Demi’s friends allegedly called 911 when they found her unresponsive after a night of partying, but then fled the scene so they wouldn’t get in trouble when cops arrived. Ugh.
