July 28, 2018
Cotton balls are a great multipurpose product. They’re cheap, disposable and, weirdly, kinda cute? So cute that
Buddy from tried to pop them in his mouth like candy! Although they do look very reminiscent of marshmallows, we do Elf not encourage eating them.
But they do have a lot of other uses! Turns out you can paint with them, clean with them and even use them as ear plugs. Want to know more? Keep scrolling to see 10 cotton ball

Deodorize your shoes
Let's be honest: shoes get smelly AF. When our feet are trapped inside of them all day long with no ventilation, of course they're going to get sweaty and star smelling yucky! When your sneaks start to smell bad, just soak some cotton balls in tea tree oil, stick them in your shoes and let them sit overnight. The tea tree oil will kill bacteria while giving your kicks a fresh, minty scent!

Keep pests away
Pests are one of the most common household nuisances. It seems like they're
always popping up somewhere, but there's a surprisingly simple way to get rid of them.
To kill ants, combine 1 tablespoon of Borax, 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water in a pot and let it boil for three minutes. Once it cools, soak the cotton balls in the mixture and place them wherever the pest problem is (like in the bottom corner of a room). The ants will flock and eventually die (#RIP).
To keep ants, mice and spiders away, soak cotton balls in peppermint oil and place them around your house — they hate the smell!

Get rid of moldy caulking
One of the joys of adulthood is having to clean your own bathroom. You know that brown stuff that pops up between shower tiles? That's actually MOLD! Gross.
Obviously no one wants a moldy shower, so get rid of the nasty stuff with some bleach and cotton balls. Add a little bleach to a large bowl of water and dip the cotton balls in them (make sure to wear gloves!) Then, stick them to the caulking and let them sit for a few hours until the mold is gone.
