For the Second Time in a Month, Christina Grimmie was Forgotten at Awards Show
The murder of Christina Grimmie is known as one of the most horrific events of 2016. The late “With Love” singer/YouTube sensation was shot and killed on June 10 during an after-concert meet-and-greet, in which she welcomed fans with open arms. Since then, so many people have been singing her praises, including her family, her friends and The Voice coach Adam Levine. Sadly, not everyone takes care to acknowledge her greatness.
Over the weekend, the Emmys, like mostly every other awards show, aired its ‘In Memoriam’ segment, in which it paid tribute to the great stars we lost this past year, including Anton Yelchin, Prince, David Bowie and David Bowie. Noticeably absent: the late 22-year-old singer, who shot to television stardom on The Voice; the show even won a trophy for Reality Competition Program. Needless to say, fans are fuming:
How the F do these awards shows do research?!?Christina Grimmie (again) Left Out Of Emmys' 'in Memoriam' Segment | https://t.co/UnR3ZJvoKM

I'm still shocked that they didn't mention Christina Grimmie in the "In Memoriam" segment at the #Emmys last night.

Ok so I'm a little annoyed that @NBCTheVoice won an Emmy & didn't even mention Christina Grimmie, nor was she honored in the memoriam..

Considering Christina’s pal, Tori Kelly, who penned and sang the tune “Blink of an Eye” in the late star’s honor over the summer, crooned a rendition of “Hallelujah” during the ‘In Memoriam’ segment, you would think someone would’ve remembered to include CG.
But, then again, Christina wasn’t mentioned at the Teen Choice Awards, even though she won the award for Choice Web Star: Music, we guess it shouldn’t have come as such a surprise. Sigh.
Sadly, Christina Grimmie’s not the only YouTuber who was murdered. This needs to stop!
