10 Things We Learned from Our Chat with Divergent‘s Christian Madsen
It’s been months since the initial release of Divergent in theaters — nearly four months, can you believe it?! — but Initiates still have plenty to look forward to… and we’re not just talking about Insurgent. In case you haven’t heard, the Blu-ray DVD is about to be released!

A huge draw of the Blu-ray/DVD is the deleted scenes. Were there any scenes you were involved in that you really hoped would make the movie, but ended up getting cut?
"One of the things that stuck out to me in the book was [Tris'] relationship with Al... in the beginning. So I discussed that with Neil a little bit, and Shai was able to help me out with more of Al as [he] pertained to the book. So there was a scene that Neil added that was with me and Shai on the sort of cliff area — ironically where Al makes his leap — and it's where Tris and Al talk on the cliff. That was then taken from the movie, but it's in the deleted scenes, so I'm excited to at least see it there. I haven't seen it yet, but when we shot the movie I was really hoping that the scene would make it in there."
Divergent is currently available on digital HD, and will become available on Blu-ray, DVD and on-demand on August 5. Want more? Take our quiz to find out which faction you belong in! After that, find out what would be in YOUR fear landscape if you were Dauntless.
