10 Things That Prove Center Stage Is the Best Dance Movie…Ever
Over the years, there have been a lot of dance movies that have come out, but it’s hard to find one as amazing as Center Stage. The ballet flick came out in 2000, and we’ve loved it ever since.
Not only do we meet a young Zoe Saldana, but there are amazing dance sequences (duh), and a pretty flawless soundtrack. In honor of this timeless classic, we put together 10 things that prove Center Stage is the best dance movie of ALL TIME. (You can quote us on that). Check them out below!
1. The jumps.
Come on, that’s CRAZY! That guy has some serious hops.
2. The soundtrack.
Between Mandy Moore‘s “I Wanna Be With You,” Michael Jackson‘s “The Way You Make Me Feel,” AND Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ “Higher Ground,” this is one soundtrack we’re still listening to years later.
3. The costumes.
This movie was pretty innovative when it came to spicing up the wardrobe of a ballerina.
4. Zoe Saldana
Her character was a rough-around-the-edges ballerina, but had a talent that couldn’t be denied. And sass that couldn’t be controlled.
5. The choreography.
If this movie doesn’t make you want to be a ballerina, we don’t know what will.
6. The love triangle.
Jodi found herself caught between bad boy Cooper Nielson and good guy Charlie. Whoever would she choose?!
7. This guy.
OK, this isn’t a GIF from the movie, but his pursuit of troubled ballerina Maureen was just too cute.
8. The romance.
This movie kept it sexy — without being too over the top.
9. The jumps (part II).
JUST LOOK AT THAT GUY!
10. AND THIS WHOLE SCENE!
We could watch this GIF ALL DAY!
