11 Hollywood Girl Gangs That are Giving Taylor Swift a Run for Her Money
February 17, 2018
We all know that
wasn’t the first person in Hollywood to start a girl gang — female friendships among celebs was a thing LONG before she came around — but Taylor Swift the squad she’s built is on another level. Remember when she rounded all of them up to film her “Bad Blood” music video? Iconic.
But while her gang had a good run, they’ve DEF seen better days. Trouble in paradise? Rumor has it that
she and , Karlie Kloss are on the rocks Lena Dunham admitted she outed herself from the group because she likes one-on-one time and said she isn’t a member of the squad at all — she’s just a friend. Lorde
So can you blame us if we’ve started looking elsewhere for girl-gang inspo? Turns out, there are all kinds of leading ladies who hang out off of the
red carpets. Some of them even started in Taylor’s squad themselves. Maybe we’ve reached the end of an era?

Maddie Ziegler, Millie Bobby Brown & Grace VanderWaal

Looks like the next generation of girl gangs is pretty dang adorable — and to think that it really wasn't that long ago when
Millie Bobby Brown was just a fan of Maddie Ziegler. Now the 15-year-old dancer and 13-year-old Stranger Things actress are BFFs, but they aren't exclusive.
Grace VanderWaal won American's Got Talent, Millie didn't just congratulate her — she asked her to join the squad! Now, these three talk every day, thanks to texting and Snapchat. They've (hopefully) got a long road ahead of them as besties, but their most iconic moment so far? Presenting at the Teen Choice Awards together!

Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence & Adele
We know what you're thinking: unless
Adele is also hiding behind Emma Stone like Jennifer Lawrence, then she's not in this picture at all. But while that may be true, that does NOT mean that these three women don't have the greatest girl squad.
They hang out, go to dinner together, support each other at events, and have the
nicest things to say about their friendship in interviews. "I know we'd be friends even if we didn't do the same job," Jennifer once said about Emma in a Vanity Fair interview. Does that mean us peasants can join?

Kylie Jenner, Anastasia Karanikolaou & Jordyn Woods
You know what we love about
Kylie Jenner's friendship with Anastasia Karanikolaou and Jordyn Woods the most? They've been best friends for almost a decade, but no matter how many lip kits the reality TV star sells and rappers she dates, she has always had these ladies by her side. They don't just pose poolside on Instagram, they also deal with real issues like the death of Jordyn's father last year.
And now that Kylie's a mom, we know they're going to love on
Stormi Webster like their own. These girls are just there for each other — plain and simple!

Best friends who attend red carpet events together, stay together, right? Here's to hoping because these three leading ladies are always supporting each other at their movie premieres. And TBH? We'd pay money to be a fly on the wall during their hangouts because we bet they're hilarious.
Although we love seeing all three of them side-by-side, our fave BFF moment was between Jane and Mae (who make almost
constant appearances on each other's Instagrams, by the way). When the Parenthood star didn't win the award she was nominated for at the Critics' Choice Awards in 2015, she tweeted a pic of her and her bestie with the caption, "Guys I lost but I have the hottest date on the planet so it's ALL GOOD."

Zosia Mamet, Allison Williams, Lena Dunham, & Jemima Kirke

If you've ever seen a single episode of
Girls, then you know that this show isn't really a show about female friendships — well, not healthy ones anyway. The four main characters don't seem to like each other all that much, but that isn't the case IRL. In fact, even after filming six seasons of the same show together, Lena Dunham, Zosia Mamet, Allison Williams, and Jemima Kirke wish it wasn't over.
Zosia even said in a
Glamour interview, "If I got to do that for the rest of my life, I would die a happy woman." And Lena told Rolling Stone, "The last night was just me like weeping into the arms of everybody." So even though we're sure these four didn't get along every second they were on set together, it's clear they're family and have so much respect for each other!

Tavi Gevinson, Kiernan Shipka, Lauren Turk, Amandla Stenberg, & Willow Smith
Peep their wrists! These girls made their bond official with the most stylish rock crystal friendship bracelets after spending a sunny day hanging out, shopping for glasses, and posting tons of pics on Instagram. We wish we could have been there!
But more than that, we're really wishing
Tavi Gevinson, Kiernan Shipka, Lauren Turk, Amandla Stenberg, and Willow Smith are here to say. We love that, just like T. Swift's squad, they're such an unexpected mix of musicians, actresses and writers. They need to hurry up and tell us how they met already!

Laurie Hernandez, Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Madison Kocian, & Gabby Douglas
Say what you want about the Final Five Olympic gymnasts, but they're about as iconic as it gets. Not only do they
get each other better than anyone else in the world after a lifetime of training and competing, but they're so sweet and supportive both on the mats and off!
Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman, in particular, all had each other's backs when they each accused Larry Nassar this year of sexually abusing them (except when Gabby said women should dress modestly... then all hell broke loose). Their show of social media support in the face of such a serious issue was inspiring — and that's only what they're showing to the public!

Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner & Hailey Baldwin

Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner may both have appeared to be in Taylor's squad at one point or another, but they have a smaller one of their own — and it's with a girl who doesn't get T.Swift's girl gang, to boot! In fact, Hailey Baldwin once said in a Yahoo7 Be interview that she didn't understand the concept at all.
Weird, because she's kind of in a squad of her own. She, Kendall and Gigi hang out on the regs — sometimes with sistas
Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid — and they always look stylish AF. This trio definitely takes the cake for the most fashionable squad in Hollywood.

Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, & Maya Rudolph
So if the last girl gang on this list was the most stylish of all, then this one is for sure the funniest.
Saturday Night Live vets Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph, and Rachel Dratch aren't just from the same show — but they're all apart of the same group chat, too! They talk all the time, and we bet their messages are too hilarious for words.
P.S. If you haven't seen their "Bad Blood" spoof on
SNL, you're doing it wrong. Pause this for just a sec and check it out — otherwise, we're judging.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz & Drew Barrymore
Wow, wow, too many iconic A-listers in one picture — we almost can't handle it! But the best thing about
Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore's friendship is that it's not a one-and-done sitch. They hang out often. Drew even posted a separate photo of them with some of their other friends last year, including none other than Nicole Richie, and wrote, "I follow my friends. And when I am most in need, I hold on tighter. But when they need me, I know I have done something right to earn their trust. Love your friends." Aww!

Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, & Blake Lively
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie came out all the way back in 2005, but stars America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn, and Blake Lively just hung out last month. Yes, you read that right! More than a decade later and these actresses are still besties.
Their most recent hang was in honor of America's pregnancy, but they've also supported each other at movie premieres, weddings, and plain ol' lunch dates. At this point, their friendship is even more adorable than the one they played onscreen. Who knew that was even possible?
