Celebrities Are Team Taylor Swift After Kanye West Clapback at the Grammys
During the latest New York Fashion Week, Kanye West reignited his longstanding feud with Taylor Swift, which publicly originated at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Although the 26-year-old pop singer praised the 38-year-old rapper’s work, and even presented him with the Vanguard Award (for Lifetime Achievement) at the 2015 VMAs, he dared to say that he “might have sex” with her because he “made that b**** famous” in his new song, “Famous.”
While friends and fellow celebrities of Taylor’s have shown their loyalty to her after Kanye’s words were released, Taylor kept mum on the issue… until the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
At last night’s celebration, the now-10-time Grammy winner accepted the top prize, Album of the Year (1989), with the speech to end all speeches. In the most epic clapback of all time, she said, “As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday, when you get where you are going. You will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment.”
Since then, celebrities have fully joined #TeamTaylor:
