Lenny Kravitz Tweets ‘Catching Fire’ Sneak Peek, Plus Possible ‘Mockingjay’ Writer Tapped
On Wednesday, Lenny Kravitz, who plays Katniss’ loyal stylist in The Hunger Games and it’s upcoming sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, shared this picture on his Twitter account.
The caption said, “In the chair on set with legendary make up artist Ve Neill testing new Cinna looks for the new #HungerGames film. LK” Cinna is back in action!
Even though the film won’t be hitting theaters until November 2013 (boo!), the cast — including Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth — is currently hard at working filming in Atlanta, Georgia. Shooting will then move to Hawaii (for the highly anticipated arena scenes) then wrap in December.
In other Hunger Games news, it looks like a screenwriter for Mockingjay, the series’ third film, has been approached. Writer Danny Strong is reportedly in talks to pen the next script. And fear not, as Danny has plenty of experience adapting words to screen, since he wrote the teleplay for Game Change, which was based on a book that was about Sarah Palin‘s run for vice president back in 2008. We’re sure if he is picked, he’ll do a great job — he has the awards to prove it!
We’re definitely grateful for this visual sneak peek but Elizabeth Banks, who plays the ever-eccentric Effie, recently opened up about the upcoming film, and said that things will be even more intense this time around. Banks said, “The stakes are definitely raised, in this one. The emotional stakes are raised. My costumes are all bigger and better and more over-the-top. Everybody is pulling out all the stops.”
What do you think about Lenny’s CF sneak peek? Does he need more of that famous gold eyeliner? And are you as excited for November 2013 as we are? Sound off in the comments!
