Cardi B Supports Friend Selena Gomez Following Emotional Breakdown
Selena Gomez checked herself into a mental health facility on the East Coast following what TMZ calls an “emotional breakdown” over lupus complications. The 26-year-old crooner was allegedly admitted to the hospital twice in two weeks and, after having a panic attack during her second stay, knew she needed help.
“She realized she needed to seek additional help for her ongoing emotional issues,” a source tells PEOPLE magazine. “She’s surrounded by close family and has a lot of support. She’s doing better now and is seeking treatment on the East Coast.”
In addition to having the support of her family members, SelGo also has her friends, including pal Cardi B, sending her love. The rapper, who recently collaborated with Selly on “Taki Taki,” posted a picture of the singer on her Instagram Story and wrote, “You are amazing.”
Another “Taki Taki” artist, DJ Snake, also sent well-wishes to the former Disney Channel actress on IG.
“Get well soon Queen, prayers are sending,” he wrote.
Selena is reportedly getting dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which she has spoken highly about in the past.
“DBT has completely changed my life,” she told Vogue in March 2017. “I wish more people would talk about therapy. We girls, we’re taught to be almost too resilient, to be strong and sexy and cool and laid-back; the girl who’s down. We also need to feel allowed to fall apart.”
She secretly checked herself into rehab for the first time in January 2014 for exhaustion and to help her cope with her lupus diagnosis and then went back in September 2016 for a 90-day program to help her battle anxiety and depression.
We wish Selena nothing but the best as she recovers.
