Cardi B & Offset Slapped with Lawsuit for Alleged Assault After the Met Gala
Wow, you guys… these are some serious allegations! Remember that huge fight that happened at a Met Gala after-party between a man and three guys who were reportedly a part of Cardi B and Offset‘s entourage? Well, it is being reported that the victim in the assault has filed a lawsuit against the parents-to-be for alleged assault!
According to this TMZ report, the couple has found themselves in legal hot water after an autograph hound made allegations that the two instructed three men to “savagely assault” him outside of a Met Gala after-party!
A man by the name of Giovanni Arnold said he was at The Mark Hotel after 2am on May 8th, when Cardi shouted some less-than-kind words his way. Giovanni also revealed that after he “expressed disappointment with being ignored,” Cardi called him names and even threatened him by saying, “I will slap the s*it out of you.” YIKES.
To make matters even worse, the man also alleges that Offset trailed closely behind his fiancée, making similar threats. If what Giovanni says is true, the rapper also told him to “shut up, bro.” Offset also reportedly added after that message that if Giovanni didn’t stop talking, he would get beat up. What a mess!
TMZ also added that, in the lawsuit, it says that Giovanni “tried de-escalating the situation, but within seconds, three bodyguards attacked him.” The document also said that he didn’t try to fight back at all and that, instead, all he did was lie on the ground and tried to protect himself. The victim then went to the hospital after claiming injuries to his face, neck, back and entire body.
Of course, all of these allegations don’t exactly make Cardi B and Offset look good, but Cardi’s team did comment after the fact, claiming that Giovanni was, as TMZ puts it, “super aggressive and obnoxious.”
