Cardi B Drops Out of Bruno Mars Tour a Few Weeks After Giving Birth
Cardi B planned to join Bruno Mars on the North American leg of his 24K Magic Tour in September, just six weeks after giving birth to daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus, but has ultimately changed her mind. The 25-year-old announced yesterday that she has to drop out from the tour, as she “underestimated this whole mommy thing.”
She wrote in a statement on Instagram, “As of today I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on tour this Fall. I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically. I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing.”
“Not only am I just not ready physically, I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road,” she continued. “I hope you guys understand that this decision has been the hardest to make but I have to do what’s best for myself and my baby! Thank you Bruno for being so supportive and understanding.”
The “Versace on the Floor” singer is obviously bummed that Cardi won’t be joining him on the road, but he completely understands and respects her decision and plans to play “Bodak Yellow” every night in her honor.
So far, there’s no word if anyone will replace CB on the tour.
