Cardi B Drops a New Song & Fans Seem to Think She’s Dragging Offset
Well, that didn’t take long. Cardi B JUST dropped a song from her upcoming highly anticipated debut album, Invasion of Privacy, and fans are already dissecting the lyrics like crazy.
The song in question, “Be Careful,” which was released at midnight last night, displayed a very different musical side to the Cardi we’re used to. Not only did the track feature a slower beat with Cardi rapping AND singing, the song’s topic of infidelity also created a more vulnerable vibe in the song.
In “Be Careful” Cardi raps, “I wanna get married, like the Currys, Steph and Ayesha sh*t // But we more like Belly, Tommy and Keisha sh*t // Gave you TLC, you wanna creep and sh*t // Poured out my whole heart to a piece of sh*t // Man, I thought you would’ve learned your lesson // ‘Bout likin’ pictures, not returnin’ texts.”
Although the 25-year-old rapper didn’t necessarily name names, many fans were quick to believe Cardi was subtly about her fiancé, Offset, and his alleged infidelity throughout the song. If you don’t remember, the couple made headlines late last year when rumors of the Migos rapper cheating on Cardi were pretty much confirmed due to photos, videos and comments from Cardi:

Cardi B really switched up the flow. I can tell this song about Offset, and she forreal hurt, idc how you twist it. She can play tough, but being a celebrity is getting to her, she just want a normal relationship.

Even though a number of Cardi’s loyal fans are sticking by this softer, more emotional side of the rapper, others aren’t digging necessarily digging this emotional vibe. So, of course, no one’s surprise, the negative Nellys had something to say:
I think Cardi meant to drop Be Careful on April 1st because…issa joke pic.twitter.com/gypG9R0AjX

But, regardless of what people think, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper is proud of her new work and responded to the haters with a couple of pretty profound tweets:
You wanna know something the ones hating are the same people that never liked me or my songs but stayed up all night to listen to Cardi B !

Haters can keep hating on Cardi, but the joke’s on them because she just continues to benefit off of their hate listens. OKURRR.
