Camila Cabello Gives Inspiring Speech Before Performing New Song
Camila Cabello surprised fans with two never-before-heard songs during her first tour stop in Vancouver, but before she performed one called “Scar Tissue,” she had a little speech prepared for the crowd. FYI: you should probably go and grab a box of tissues really quick because it will have you in tears.
The tune was co-written with Charlie XCX and has the most amazing meaning.
“I don’t know if you guys know this, but scar tissue is the piece of skin that grows back,” the 21-year-old told the crowd. “It grows on top of the skin that’s been burned or been hurt. And it’s the body’s way of healing. When I wrote this part of the song, it felt like I was healing. I just want you to know, that if any of you are going through a tough time or are lost, I just want you to be patient and be loving and be brave, and treat yourself like if you were your own best friend…”
But the songstress didn’t stop there with her explanation. She went on to tug even MORE at our heartstrings by saying, “I promise you that one day, you’re gonna look in the mirror and you’re not only gonna be better for it, but you healed is gonna be better than the you that was unbroken.”
It’s safe to say that “Scar Tissue” is a super emotional and personal ballad close to Camila’s heart and it’ll definitely resonate with a lot of people. Her vulnerability and openness with the world just makes us love her even more.
