Cameron Boyce & Finn Wolfhard Fire Agent Over Sexual Assault Allegations
Descendants actor Cameron Boyce and Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard have both fired their agent, Tyler Grasham, following recent sexual assault allegations.
Two men recently came forward and accused the APA agent of sexually assaulting them, causing him to fired from the company. But before that decision was made, the Disney Channel and Netflix stars parted ways with the man. The 14-year-old cut ties with Tyler first, followed by the 18-year-old just a few hours later.
“Whether or not Cameron will continue his relationship with APA remains to be seen,” Cameron’s spokesperson told Deadline. “Tyler Grasham, however, is most definitely fired.”
Former child actor Blaise Godbe Lipman said Tyler sexually assaulted him 10 years ago.
“Tyler Grasham, under the pretense of a business meeting regarding potential agency representation at APA Agency, fed me alcohol while I was underage and sexually assaulted me,” he explained on Facebook.
The now-28-year-old also told Deadline, “He got me drunk at a meeting to talk about business and at his apartment he got on top of me and fondled me and I pushed him off without trying to upset him. It was a very precarious position to be in, not to insult someone who was in a position of power.”
Blaise said he was inspired to tell his story after seeing all the actors and actresses come forward about their encounters with sexual predator Harvey Weinstein.
27-year-old film and TV editor Lucas Ozarowski confirmed that Tyler “did the same thing to [him] in January 2016.
“He got me a little tipsy and took me to the Sandbox bar next door,” LO explained. “There were more and more drinks. At midnight or 1 AM I told him I wanted to go home, but I’d left my phone at his house to charge. So we went back there and I called for an Uber. But he said, ‘Let’s watch The Martian while you’re waiting for Uber.’ I said OK and we sat down on the couch. I had my phone in my crotch, and all of a sudden he reached over and grabbed me under my pants. It really took me off guard. I pulled his hands out and said, ‘You know I’m not gay. I don’t want this Hollywood BS.'”
6 male actors who shared sexual assault stories amid Harvey Weinstein scandal:
James Van Der Beek
Although it's likely that there are many men in Hollywood who are still afraid to speak out about their sexual assault, others, such as James Van Der Beek, are trying to break the stigma.
James took to Twitter to say, "What Weinstein is being accused of is criminal. What he's admitted to is unacceptable — in any industry. I applaud everybody speaking out. I've had my ass grabbed by older, powerful men, I've had them corner me in inappropriate sexual conversations when I was much younger... I understand the unwarranted shame, powerlessness & inability to blow the whistle. There's a power dynamic that feels impossible to overcome."
We are SO grateful that James is not only sharing his story, but that he's also letting the female victims know that he understands exactly what they're feeling. Sometimes, it's just enough to know you're not alone.
