A Gay YouTube Star Was Engaged — and You Had Absolutely No Idea!
YouTube star Calum McSwiggan A.K.A. EatGayLove is always super open about his life, which is why fans were shocked when he dropped his latest bombshell — he was once engaged.
“I was in a 6-year long relationship and I was engaged,” the gay YouTuber said in a new video. “I had a ring on my finger and I was ready to marry this guy, but it didn’t work out.”
The 26-year-old met the mystery man when he was just 16 years old and he “ended up falling madly head-over-heels in love with him.” The pair quickly became inseparable and moved in together, shared the same friends, etc. Then, on Calum’s 21st birthday, his boyfriend got down on one knee and proposed, to which he OBVIOUSLY agreed.
The LGBTQ+ advocate was happier than he ever thought possible, but that’s when everything came to a screeching halt — “Six months later, he decided to take his ring back and we broke up and our relationship was over.”
Calum “felt like [his] whole world had fallen apart” following the split and was absolutely “inconsolable.” While the the heartbreak was intense for a great amount of time, the Brit now thinks the relationship’s end was “the best thing that ever happened to [him]” because it “forced [him] out into the world.”
This news is obviously very surprising for the YT guy’s fans to hear, but he ultimately wanted to tell the story so people know that they are not alone and a broken heart will always heal.
