Why Caitlyn Jenner Didn’t Tell Kardashians About Gender Surgery
The rift between Caitlyn Jenner and the Kardashians has grown bigger and bigger ever since her memoir, Secrets of My Life, came out last April. Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian were not only upset that the 68-year-old spoke poorly about their mom, Kris Jenner, in the book, but also because she didn’t keep them in the loop about her transition.
The Olympic champion has always maintained that the secrecy was not meant to be hurtful to her ex-wife and former stepchildren, but now she’s getting a little more candid about why she didn’t tell them she was getting gender confirmation surgery.
“I didn’t tell anybody [about the surgery],” she told Piers Morgan on the latest installment of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories. “It’s none of their business.”
Caitlyn not only decided to let the Kardashians find out about her sex reassignment surgery when her book came out because she wanted to keep it completely private, but also because she didn’t trust them to keep the information to themselves.
She explained, “I didn’t want them to leak it to the press, okay? There was no reason for them to know about it.”
Asked if she didn’t trust the girls, Caitlyn admitted, “Of course not — of course I didn’t trust them.”
CJ says the information was “not that big a deal” because she “had already been living as Caitlyn for a year and a half.”
Kim and Caitlyn haven’t spoken for about a year, which she called “devastating” just two months ago. But at this point in her life, she’s only concerned about maintaining her relationship with Kendall and Kylie Jenner
“I don’t talk to the Kardashians anymore,” Cait admitted to Piers. “The only ones I am concerned about are Kendall and Kylie. They are my biological kids. I spent 23 years carting them around.”
Caitlyn married Kris in 1991 and helped raise the famous sisters for most of their lives.
