K-Pop Sensation RM Breaks Free from BTS and Drops Solo Project, Mono
It’s here, A.R.M.Y.! BTS‘ own RM, a.k.a. Kim Nam-joon, just dropped what he’s calling a solo ‘playlist,’ and we’re totally FREAKING OUT!
RM, formerly known as Rap Monster, surprised BTS fans around the world over the weekend by announcing that he would be releasing a solo playlist (read: album) called mono on October 23. Well… SURPRISE! The playlist has arrived an entire day early (well, if you’re in the U.S., that is) and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

As you can tell, mono includes seven brand-new songs, some of which are awesome collaborations. For example, the second track, “Seoul,” was produced by Honne, while the sixth is a collab with Nell, a successful band in South Korea. Ahh!
This isn’t the first time RM branched out from his K-Pop group, however. The 24-year-old teamed up with Fall Out Boy last December for the “Champion” remix, which was BEYOND incredible.
NGL, RM’s mixtape literally JUST dropped, so we haven’t even had time to listen to it all ourselves. What we do know, however, is that BTS fans around the globe are already completely obsessed.
It's been less than an hour but I feel like this "playlist" helped me face some emotions I thought I couldn't handle or maybe was afraid to face. I am eternally thankful as usual to Namjoon, but he gave me even more reasons to feel so today. #monoishere #ThankYouNamjoon
