The 1st Time May Be the Last Time Dylan O’Brien & Britt Robertson Work Together
2016 is shaping up to be a packed year for Britt Robertson. The 26-year-old actress already had two movies hit theaters, Jack Goes Home, which was directed by her The Secret Circle co-star, Thomas Dekker, and Mother’s Day, starring pretty much everyone and their mother, like Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts & Shay Mitchell. And she has another film tapped for release by year’s end, Mr. Church, opposite Eddie Murphy. So, when we had the chance to catch up with Britt, we jumped at it!
Just in time for Mother’s Day — both the holiday and the flick — we couldn’t help but ask the Longest Ride star all about her Mother’s Day traditions. (FYI, she said what she and her siblings came up with was “terrible.”) But, while she’s been killing it on the big screen, we couldn’t help but throw it back to her past life as a TV star; more specifically, the star of The CW’s The Secret Circle.
From 2011-2012, she, along with other teen television series favorites Phoebe Tonkin and Shelley Hennig, kicked serious butt on the short-lived drama. Like, honestly, we’re itching for a series reunion. While that doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards, a potential co-star reunion may be! When we prodded the actress about potentially guest-starring on Phoebe’s show, The Originals, she exclaimed, “Yes! I would love to do that.”
“I was in Tribeca over the weekend and Phoebe was in New York, so we had a flight back together,” she said. “We, like, spent six hours from New York to LA on the flight together. We talked all about The Originals and I feel like I have a really good idea what the show is about and I could come up with a cool character. I’m going to have to talk to Julie Plec, who runs that show, because you’re right, I should totally jump on.” YAAAS!
Unfortunately, don’t expect the same thing for Britt and Shelley. “I don’t know about that. I mean, I feel like I’ll leave Teen Wolf to the Teen Wolfers. Because you know, I love Shell, I would love to work with Shell, that would be really cool.”
What’s getting in the way? Her boyfriend, Dylan O’Brien, who plays Shelley’s love interest on the show. “I don’t know, I want to save working with Dylan for something really different,” Britt explained. “That would also have to be so far away from now. It would be so hard for us to work together; I feel like I would have a hard time working with him. So, as much as I would love to work with Shell, we’d have to do it on something else.”
When we spoke to Britt around the release of Tomorrowland, she actually said she’s not a fan of being around Dylan during work. “He hates it when I’m on set when he’s working and vice versa,” she said. I hate when he’s on set watching me work. I think it’s because we’re both actors and very aware of the process. A big part of the job is disconnecting from the people watching and the masses of crews. I think it makes sense that we’re a little shy and sensitive about working in front of our significant others. To me it makes sense. It’s nice that we both don’t like it. When I go visit him, I don’t even go on set. And, when he visits me, it’s very rare that I’ll go on set.”
Guess The First Time may be the last time the lovebirds star on screen with one another.
The Teen Wolf cast members may seem smooth, but they’ve got some horrible experiences when it comes to pickup lines:
