I said below that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was kicking off the summer season on May 1st, and while that means it gets a leg up on the competition, only one week later it gets its first massive challenger: J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek.
Not wanting to be outdone by its mutant rival, Star Trek also just came out with a new trailer, which you can check out below. It’s much busier than the first version, and only gives us cursory glimpses of the supporting crew of the Enterprise. We do get a lot more from Eric Bana’s villain Nemo, however. If you liked the first trailer for the plot, then enjoy this one for the action:
Trek and Wolverine truly open the floodgates: afterwards, on consecutive weekends, moviegoers will be bombarded with Angels & Demons, Terminator Salvation, Up, and Land of the Lost. And remember, new Transformers and Harry Potter movies are coming down the pipeline after all those. If you’re not getting excited yet, you should be.
