According to Latino Review, the producers of the upcoming Green Lantern have approached Ryan Gosling, Emile Hirsch, and Sam Worthington for the lead role and were turned down each time.
You may notice all of those guys are white — a big hint that the version of the Green Lantern appearing in the film will be Hal Jordan, and not African-American John Stewart, who appears in the current Justice League animated series.
The producers are apparently eying Anton Yelchin (who appears this summer in both Star Trek and Terminator Salvation) and trying Gosling again.
Yelchin is still not yet twenty years old. Hirsch is twenty-three. Heck, why not go after Freddie Highmore? He just turned seventeen.
