Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman have signed onto The Baster, a new comedy written by Allan Loeb (21) and directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon — the team behind Blades of Glory.
The story is about a neurotic (Bateman) who finds out his best friend (Aniston) is planning on being aritificially inseminated. He replaces her donor’s semen with his own, and then is forced to live with the secret that he’s the baby’s father.
If I was a betting man, I’d say there was a love story somewhere in there, too.
Bateman has recently finished filming a number of supporting roles in the political drama State of Play, Mike Judge’s new comedy Extract, and Ricky Gervais’s new comedy This Side of the Truth. Aniston, for her part, is in theaters this weekend with He’s Just Not That Into You and has also completed the romantic drama Traveling with Aaron Eckhart.
