17 Again is Zac Efron’s big career move to position himself as the next Tom Hanks, or at the very least the next legitimately bankable actor. It’s the first true test of his mainstream starpower — Hairspray and High School Musical 3 were both sold more on their brands than any of the stars.
Luckily, it has a fun concept (basically Big in reverse) and has a good supporting cast: Matthew Perry plays Efron’s older self, while Leslie Mann (Knocked Up) plays his wife.
