It’s always a pleasant surprise when a movie you knew nothing about comes out with something that really knocks your socks off. Such is the case for the new animated film 9 — not to be confused with the upcoming musical Nine starring Daniel Day-Lewis — which just debuted a trailer that looks really, really cool. If you’re into creepy post-apocalyptic parables starring sapient rag dolls.
The project is a full-length expansion of a short film (both directed by Shane Acker), and boasts producers Tim Burton (The Nightmare Before Christmas) and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted). The voice cast is equally impressive: Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover, Martin Landau, and Christopher Plummer. Check out the trailer below:
