Okay, folks, brace yourselves and remain very, VERY, calm, because the stuff I’m about to lay out represents some serious speculation based on a limited series of reported points. For those of you who don’t believe what I’m about to tell you, here’s the citation.
Point one: Robert Pattinson has reportedly been found getting very “physical” with newcomer Taylor Lautner over just who’s the heartthrob du jour on the set. The two have, sources claim, “come to blows” over the role, and Pattinson himself is starting to feel like a has-been.
Point two: We’ve all heard the rumors about Pattinson’s poor hygiene–I just put those out not too long ago from other sources right here on the Clog–and there’s also been stirrings from Pattinson’s co-stars that there’s trouble afoot. Meanwhile, things are on the upswing for Lautner, who’s reportedly “clearly reveling in his new role – and the notice he’s getting for the roughly 30 pounds of muscle he packed on – from fans and co-star Kristen Stewart”.
Point three: This, also from sources–“He’s feeling very worried about his status as a fading superstar. And his friends are also concerned that Robert’s Twilight success may have only been short-lived, and they feel bad for him.”
Any one of these by itself would mean precious little. Surely many rising stars see the future coming at them and fear the days of being a has-been. And a guy like Rob, who has on many occasions shown himself to be a shy sort, a true gentleman in many senses, could easily feel threatened by having a guy like Lautner show up. The fact that they’ve reportedly come to blows over this is especially distressing.
All of it put together adds up to some serious potential problems showing up in the underpinnings of the entire Twilight franchise. Like I said, we’re speculating like mad here…but the facts very clearly remain that all is not well in Twilight town.
Just how bad things truly are remains to be seen.

robert pattinson makes an excellent edward. Robert and Kristen “click” really well in twilight. If Robert and Kristen do not play their parts in New Moon, it will NOT be as good as Twilight.

i would just like to say that if this is true that there is a problem and robert feels this way then i would just like to say that i dont think he has anything to worry about i think that he is completly 100% gorgous and he has nothing to worry about he is sweet and sexy and just the most gorgous man i have ever seen in my entire life. I know that if i ever got a chance to meet him or if he ever read this then i would love to tell him how i feel because he is an amazing actor and he is just completly amazing and i mesmerized by him. whenever i see him on tv or hear him in an interview i start to blush and just get weak in the knees because he is just amazing. all of these rumors were all a bunch of crap…as of today…every fans’jaw dropped from seeing the latest pictures or scenes from the movie “new Moon” why? i agree with Madeline and Veronica, without him, New Moon would be totally pointless. i will NOT watch New Moon if Rob isn’t in it. i mean, he is waaaay hotter than Taylor Lautner. Rob can portray different emotions and unlike a LOT of other actors, he did his own stunts in the movie. Twilight is the best movie and book saga ever.nothing will ever change that, but if he leaves, it will never be the same.

I would just like to say that Jacob is suppose to be bigger and more muscular than Edward in the book. So why would Rob care if Taylor had more muscle? its all about looking the part right? Veronica–there’s a surprisingly large groundswell of support on Taylor’s side. If Team Edward, as you put it, gets smaller with every passing day, then Team Edward’s relevance also lessens. If Team Edward gets sufficiently small then Rob himself may be overthrown. Just a possibility.
