Seems that certain sections of the Twilight fan base are getting SO scary that they’ve even got Kristen Stewart in a panic. Her recent review with USA Today shows the lengths that some are going, and the depths of her own terror. Dig the word:
Another thing that makes her stop in mid-sentence: teenage girls. A group enters the restaurant, and Stewart abruptly shuts up until they pass. She apologizes, a little embarrassed, and whispers: “If those type of girls saw me talking about Twilight, you don’t understand. If I said ‘Jacob’ too loud, they’d be like —” She makes her eyes wide and sticks her hands out like claws.
Oh, I think we understand, Kristen. We all saw the backlash after Stephen King gave less than a positive review of Stephanie Meyer’s work. We’ve got a pretty good idea of what you’re going through.
“More than three girls of that certain age — run away,” she says, laughing as the threat settles in a distant part of the patio. “Girls are scary. Large groups of girls scare the (crap) out of me.”
You know it’s bad, folks, when more than three people in one area scares her.
She says Pattinson gets it worse. “They covet him. I think half of them are so jealous that they hate me,” she jokes. “It doesn’t make my relationship harder. It’s not like, ‘Maybe I should be with (Pattinson) to make them happy and it’ll make me more popular!’ ” Stewart laughs, adding that her real boyfriend “is totally not a threatened guy. But, dude, it sucks.”
I’m not so sure this is all a big joke. The fact that you’re even expressing it at all suggests that something deeper is at work here–otherwise you would’ve kept completely quiet. I know enough about marketing to know to add about ten percent on to whatever bad is said and reduce about ten percent of the good just as a human’s own “fudge factor”, and if this is what you’re admitting to, the likelihood is it’s getting pretty scary and we’re just one movie in.

Stacey–that IS one of the major downsides of celebrity. You’d think most people would know that going in, though.
Linda–fans are probably nothing new to her, but fans of THAT forcefulness? That could be disconcerting to anyone.

I think Kristen is a bit of a drama queen. She’s been acting since she was 9 and the fame and fans shouldn’t be anything new to her.
Plus without fans she wouldn’t have a job, if she’s that scared then hire extra security.

omg! scared of teenage obsessed girls!
I would be too if i played Bella in the movie….gosh! All those girls who read the books and watched the movie wooing over Edward *sigh* and writing their names “Stacey Cullen” *sigh*
I don’t do that….but yes…..there are people out there who are likely enough to attack any competition for the love of Edward, EVEN if it means that they have to eliminate the Bella Swan….
Poor Kirsten…..didn’t know what she was getting into….neither rob….GOD I FEEL SORRY FOR HIM!
