Well, American Idol fans, there may not be a fourth judge much longer. Seems that Paula Abdul is greatly distressed by having four judges on the show. She thinks it’s ruining the show.
I don’t have the heart to tell her that the show does a pretty good job of ruining itself. Anyone else notice that the viewership is starting to flag and only ONE actual career, Kelly Clarkson, has emerged from the show? Don’t believe me? Okay, fine.
Two words: Ruben. Studdard.
Yeah, thought so.
In fact, Paula herself says on the four-judge topic: “We tried four judges before and it doesn’t work. It takes up so much time for each of us to give our opinion that it slows down the pace of the show.”
And the time you spend staring off into space waiting for directives from the mothership really helps things move along, Paula. Ooookay, call me when the Furon homeworld tells you who to vote for. Sounds like one way or another they’ll be back to three judges soon enough.
