The smoke has finally settled and the mirrors are all put away–after Shia LaBeouf’s July 2008 car crash, the verdict is in: his driver’s license has been suspended for a year.
Most of the reason he lost his license isn’t because of the crash itself, but rather because he refused a breathalyzer test at the scene. Even better, apparently, there were “physical signs” that he was operating a vehicle under the influence of…something…so saith the L.A. Sheriff’s Department.
So, no breathalyzer…”physical signs” of being “under the influence”…but just one year of a suspended license. You know, most of us in a similar situation might well be looking at jail time. But not the celebrity…no…of course not.
Far be it from me to sound bitter but I smell preferential treatment at work here.
