The fur trade is getting hotter than ever now, and the newest target by the anti-fur crowd is not the fur-wearing celebrities themselves. No sir, no more globs of red paint tossed onto fur–the new target is their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Both the Olsen Twins–Mary-Kate and Ashley–and Sharon Stone’s stars have been recently defaced with the legends “Fur Hags” (for the twins) and “Old Fur Hag” (for Stone).
I confess that I don’t exactly approve of such tactics (and it’s a low blow to call Stone specifically an OLD fur hag…pic kind of related). Defacing public property isn’t good in normal circumstances, and especially over something like fur. No, I say stick with the protests and the pickets, keep a fair distance so as not to block traffic, and let it take its course.
It might be a good idea, fur protestors, to re-examine your goals. You’re not likely to make people change their mind about fur…maybe it should be good enough that you register your personal distaste.
