Now I feel bad for making fun of Boy George. Dig this quote from short-term temporary Boy George cellmate Richard Lyttle, held on a driving charge:
“When I walked into the cell I saw this fat, bald bloke sitting in the corner crying like a baby. He was shaking like a leaf, a total wreck. He kept sobbing over and over, ‘I can’t go to jail - I’ll be killed.’ He was crying about how he was just a fat old pop star that everyone was laughing at.”
In a bid to keep him from getting turned into hamburger by the other inmates right away, Pentonville Prison officials moved him into the prison’s hospital wing to separate him from the general population. No word, however, on how long this will last, as he’s been sentenced to fifteen months in prison.
I’ve got to admit, I feel for the guy. Sure, there are those who’ll pull out the “don’t do the crime” saw, but look at the guy. He might well NOT survive in prison, and last I checked, nowhere does unlawful imprisonment carry a death penalty.
