Usually they go for the latter, but a couple of the underdogs — namely NBC’s Chuck and Fox’s Dollhouse — got renewed for at least thirteen episodes next season.

(The stipulation for Chuck?  Massive budget cuts.  Two writers and at least one cast member will be let go, and the supporting cast will likely not all appear in every episode.)

Not everybody was as lucky.  Dollhouse’s timeslot companion, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, was canceled despite the absurd hotness of Summer Glau.  (She’s an alum of Joss Whedon’s Firefly — I wonder if she’ll pop up on Dollhouse next season?)

Other noteworthy canceled shows include ABC’s The Unusuals and Samantha Who (the latter of which was expected to get a renewal) and CBS’s long-running Without a Trace (Cold Case, on the other hand, will survive).

Fox’s Fringe, the second-biggest new TV show of the year (after CBS’s The Mentalist) won an easy renewal, as did Bones (for two seasons!)  Scrubs, somehow, some way, will also be back on ABC next season, despite airing a very clear-cut series finale last week.  Zach Braff won’t be the star anymore, but he might show up from time to time.

The starlet said it herself, “My life really isn’t that interesting.” And it isn’t! So for me, I was glad to see LiLo on Ellen, setting the damn record straight finally. I have a feeling that the LiLo era of celebrity exploitation is coming to an end….but where one falls, another rises!

How? Leno is a giant! He’s big in other countries too! So if they travel all the way to L.A. and have intentions on seeing his show in person. They expect just that! Not this week ladies and gentlemen!

This actually is the first time in all the years Leno has done the Tonight Show that a taping has had to be cancelled due to him being ill. Can you believe that? Since 1992!!!! And you call-in every few weeks or so.

I don’t know what, but there is something eerily funny about poloticians that display their character or try to at least. With that said, I don’t mind seeing an ex-Senator or Governer on TV here and there, I just hope that this doesn’t become a trend…..Imagine having reality TV council meeting debate competitions on MTV in the future…yuk!!

I wouldn’t care about a crown either if they had asked me a question that the world is so divided on. Perez Hilton should get punched in the face for asking her that question….it just wasn’t fair! But, it’s in his face! Because she didn’t give him the answer we all know he wanted!!

This “For The Love of Ray J” contestant showed that she had tricks and gifts on the very first day. So it wasn’t so much a suprise that Chardonnay would hit the stripper pole the way she did. It was what she did when she got up there, that made my ass jump up off of the couch like I was in the strip club with them that night!

I don’t care who you are, if you saw this and it didn’t make you want to jump out of your seat, you are a boring, lame soul with no sense of humor and respect for people with talent!

From day one, It seemed as though he might have found some pretty decent women to choose from….then one by one, the normal girls began to get sent home, and voluntarily go home…though none of them actually were 100% normal. At any rate, the final 3 girls Ray J has left, all have something terribly wrong with them. One is needy, one is a manipulative liar, and the other is just off her rocker a bit too much. I couldn’t say what I would do if I was in this position, but I think it would be a repeat of Real Chance of Love….send every single one of their asses packing!!!

I doubt that is going to happen tonight, but you never know…..

Every guy my age wants a successful woman who knows what she wants and where she is going. But even better one who has already gone and has acheieved success. The fact that she is sexy is just a bonus. Though I prefer more competitive, comedic dating shows myself, I may just check out the premiere tonight to see if it’s worth my Oh so precious time.

Stev-O was probably the most suprising contestant in my eyes and one whom I expected to get sent packing much sooner than week 6. Strictly for entertainment purposes I would’ve chose Stev-O over LT. But the show is called Dancing With The Stars not Jackassing With The Stars, so the right person was sent home…..

I personally took a liking to Aundrea! I mean, she’s just sexy to me. The type of chick that could make a guy cheat on his girl type sexy!

Now I know that fan involvment is what keeps shows like Dancing with the Stars and American Idol popular, but c’mon people. This is a dancing competition! Not a favorites competition. All too often are couples being sent packing that did better than the other contestants. Whatever though….it’s going to happen anyway, but do you really think this performance deserved to be sent packing?

StevO probably should’ve been next. Can’t believe he is actually still in the runnings……Aaaah!!

So, it doesn’t look like Ray J has the best options to choose from at this point. His mom even met the girls and straight up said, “No, No, and No!” when he asked her which one she liked the most. His friends like Cocktail, his sister Brandy likes Unique, and his assistant likes Danger. Maybe he will be the 2nd one to send all of the contestants home. I know I would if these were my options……Where are all the normal chicks at?????

Dr. Kutner Tribute

Dr. House, being the intuitive mastermind that he is in the hospital, shows off his CSI skills and figures out that Kutner didn’t kill himself off, but in fact was murdered….how did I know that was going to happen??? Or did it?

After the strike-abbreviated second season, it was unclear whether NBC would renew the low-rated but critically-acclaimed show at all.  They ended up striking a cost-cutting deal with DirecTV: DirecTV would air the season in the fall, followed by a network run on NBC in the spring.

The deal resulted in even lower NBC ratings for the show, but apparently it was a good enough financial move for them to renew the deal for two more years.  Then again, it’s not like NBC has anything wonderful in the pipeline with which to replace FNL.

Now everybody who used to be worried the show would get canceled as soon as they started watching it can safely tune in…

She is their Favorite Female Singer! Again!

I like Miley…She’s down to earth. She’s real! She had the balls to admit that she didn’t think she was going to win….and did it with tears. What a cold day in tween world it would have been if Hannah Montana didn’t win something…..

Recently she snapped when a reporter asked her if she thought that her family with it’s history of drug problems should host a family variety show. Obviously that was a very STUPID question to ask Anyone about their family. Fortunately, no smackdown was laid this time.

Holly Madison is the next injury victim, due to discomforting pain in her rib area. She’s been prescribed some meds to help handle it and she will continue to compete! Yay! I hate to see people go out do to things they cannot control.

Again, trailers rarely make me laugh, let alone crack a smile. So to answer the question of Success or failure…I’m going to have to say that this is going to be an easy success. People love the Osbournes, and seeing them in this different aspect in a variety show, I’m sure that their viewers won’t get bored….

A shopping problem can be controled….Or a person can spend all their money until they don’t have anymore to shop with. Fortunately for Rev Run’s daughters, they assessed their own shopping problem. Anyways, they will never go broke. And Kim Kardashian…well let’s just say that I don’t think that she will be going broke any time soon either.  But the fact that they set up an Interventionist for her, was quite amusing. I couldn’t believe that they actually had shopping interventionists.

Then, the unthinkable…..Snoop tells Paris that he wants to freestyle with her. When she said Ok, I was like, Uh Oh!!! And this is what happened…..

Not as bad as I thought. Paris Hilton actually has a little flow.

That is a great suggestion for a lot of these reality shows with people feuding on them. Just let them fight. And if someone backs down, then they need to keep their mouth shut! At any rate, this is a cat fight I really do want to see!

This kind of power abuse on shows like Dancing with the Stars should be illegal….but then again, without the drama, it’s not TV. Thanks judges, you just gave the guy with the old bar-stool legs another chance to make himself look bad. We still admire his heart, but damn!

And now the real battle begins……. Unique, Cocktail, Chardonnay, and Danger. 

Of course the most pleasing final would be between arch enemies, Unique and Danger. Though I’m kind of disappointed at the way they’re being portrayed, it wouldn’t be TV if there was no drama involved.

On that note, I really do not know who he will or should pick between these 4! I had a much easier time choosing between Real & Chance’s girls, who were much hotter!

They were doing fine, until he got on his knees. Then you just had to brace yourself like, Uh Oh! It really wasn’t even the fact that he almost collapsed that messed up the routine. It was much more so Steve’s serious attempt at the Worm! It takes heart to go on TV and do that too, but what the hell was he trying to prove?

So now that the mouth on legs has left the building, and the teams are no longer a factor, it’s basically survival of the fittest. Who will take it all?

Just when things seem to go smooth, a foot deep pothole! At an America’s Next Top Model casting call, for shorter models, chaos began! So it really must be true when they say that short people have little-man-syndrome!

Of course, I wasn’t there and they haven’t definitely said what happened, but it was probably crowded and hot…those are two things that can’t get a person worked up! A few people were arrested, some were treated for minor injuries, while others refused medical treatment. They probably didn’t have insurance and weren’t trying to get stuck with that bill. I feel ‘em! How many times have you hurt yourself and just let it heal naturally?

On another note…The network now known as the Sci Fi channel, will soon be the network formerly known as the Sci Fi channel. They will be changing to SyFy. What inspired this change? Your guess is as good as mine. But anyone looking for something Sci Fi on TV, is now likely going to mistake SyFy, for a network spoken in Japanese! We’ll see if it works!

Clooney wasn’t the only one to return for a relapse of TV appearances. Dr. Doug Ross’ on screen wife, nurse Carol Hathaway also returned for her dose of ‘Old Times’. E.R. had an Old Times reunion on this episode. Too bad you’ll have to try and catch the rerun if you missed it….

What about the celebs that we KNOW do stuff like cocaine, heroin and pills on a regular basis? Well what about them…they haven’t got caught on camera doing it! So, I take it that, Phelps is going to do, what Phelps is going to do…he is just going to be smarter around people with cameras from now on!

We will remember him for his great Olympic accomplishments much longer than we are going to remember his embarrasing photo. Those who are disgusted with Phelps and continue to try exposing him, are really just wasting their energy…

The other day, he came out on Ellen lookin’ more like Richard Rubin from Beauty and the Geek season 1 than himself, with those horrific dance moves. However, once he began to speak, he talked about how he is a Twitter-er and how he frequently sends purely positive messages to his followers. Sometimes, people do need a word of encouragement and coming from someone as accomplished as P. Diddy, it could really spark the brain of our next Billionaire, so for that reason, I have joined Diddy’s followers to see what type of encouraging, positive, inspiring things are being put out there…

Diddy Also spoke on his letting Chris and Rihanna use his Florida residence to reunite! I guess he’s not that bad of a guy after all…

Madison on the other hand scored an 18 out of 30, and was described by one of the judges as a baby deer with wobbly legs. Still she didn’t do the worst!

Tonioli, who ended up at the bottom of the point system, were told that watching him dance was,  “It was like watching a Teletubby going mad in a gay pride parade.”

Man….if they never ever hit it on the button, they did it there!

Someone forgot to tell Mormon’s about the Internet. If someone was really interested in Mormon ritchuals, which I highly doubt, all they’d have to do is surf the Internet and they will be able to find every detail. Someone needs to lay the smackdown on these people! The U.S. is not a 3rd World Country!!!!!!!!

Anyway, the latest news on the project is a good one: Rose Byrne, star of Damages, told MTV at a recent event for her new film Knowing that a bunch of her friends were auditioning for the pilot.  Meaning the pilot is getting ready to shoot.  Meaning the series could debut as early as this year (although probably not until 2010).

He also speaks positively about a few lengends who haven’t been getting any good press for the past 14 years or so. And he apologizes for his bitchy attitudes. Thanks Kanye! You do what other artists are afraid to do!
