All the Big Winners from the 2018 Billboard Music Awards!
Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift ruled the winners’ circle at this year’s Billboard Music Awards!
Kendrick, who had an astounding 15 BBMA nominations this year, walked away with a very impressive six wins, including Top Rap Artist. Unfortunately, Kendrick’s wins all went down in the non-televised portion of the show, so we didn’t get to see him do an epic speech during the ceremony. Boo.
Ed Sheeran also came in with 15 nominations and took home a healthy number of awards, including the coveted Top Artist award, which pal Taylor Swift was also nominated for. And speaking of Taylor, after her two-year awards show hiatus, the Reputation crooner came out a winner in the Top Female Artist category, as well as Top-Selling Album category.
Camila Cabello, who’s currently touring with Tay, was delighted to take home the prize for Billboard Chart Achievement Award. Khalid was also honored at the ceremony, taking home the Top New Artist award.
To no one’s surprise BTS beat out Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber for Top Social Artist. And while Bruno Mars slayed virtually every R&B category, Cardi B was awarded Best Rap Female Artist.
Other big winners from the night include Post Malone, Imagine Dragons and The Chainsmokers.
Last, but certainly not least, Janet Jackson made history at the 2018 BBMAs, becoming the first black woman to win the Icon Award. Janet gave one HELL of a comeback performance and gave a moving and empowering speech that was partially inspired by the #MeToo movement.
All in all, there weren’t any huge surprises at this awards show — except, of course, for Taylor showing up in the first place! Welcome back, Tay!
