7 of the Best Zombie Movies You Need to See Immediately
If you’ve been a little skittish on watching anything involving the “zombie” trend, we have the perfect movie to ease you into it! Life After Beth hits theaters THIS Friday (August 15) and between its humor, wit, and all-star cast, we can guarantee you’ll be a zombie convert in no time.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s Dane DeHaan stars as Zach who is devastated after the loss of his girlfriend Beth (played by Parks & Recreation star Aubrey Plaza). So you could imagine his surprise when she comes back from the dead! Only to slowly change into a zombie. Kind of puts a damper on things, don’t you think?
Life After Beth also stars Anna Kendrick, John C. Reilly, Matthew Gray Gubler, and many, MANY more. In honor of this hilariously awesome flick hitting theaters this week, we rounded up seven zombie movies you need to watch IMMEDIATELY. Check them out below!
1. Life After Beth
We told you — Zach plays a guy whose girlfriend is slowly transforming into a zombie. This movie perfectly blends humor and zombies.
2. Warm Bodies
Starring Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer, Nicholas plays a zombie named “R” who ends up falling for a human named Julie. Again, this movie is a perfect blend of humor, zombies, and romance. It’s a MUST watch!
3. Shaun of the Dead
Yet another movie that can ease you into zombie flicks. This one is more about humor and less about brain-eating zombies. Yes, there’s still tons of blood and guts, but not enough to make you queasy.
4. World War Z
Brad Pitt and a zombie apocalypse? Sign us up! Now, just a fair warning, this one is a LITTLE more on the scary side, so you might want to save watching this one until you’re totally comfortable with the zombie trend.
Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson play two dudes trying to get home in this HILARIOUSLY amazing zombie flick. Bonus points for Emma Stone and Bill Murray, too.
6. Dawn of the Dead
The 2004 remake of the classic film certainly kick started the world’s interest in zombies. PS, yes, that is a pre-Modern Family Ty Burrell.
7. Hocus Pocus
OK, so we know this isn’t TECHNICALLY a zombie movie, but it has Billy Butcherson coming back from the dead, so we’re going to count it anyways.
