10 Movies Sequels That Are Actually Worth Watching
This morning, I forgot a sweater and sat on a freezing cold train for an hour, got stuck in the pouring rain without an umbrella, and got my brand new leather boots wet. But one thing made everything better: the news that there might actually be a Zoolander sequel. Will Ferrell was quoted saying that they “are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon.” Squee!
Out of all of the silly, ridiculous, off-the-wall movies from the early 2000s, Zoolander has always been my favorite. I’ve watched this movie so many times that I’ve actually lost count of how many times I’ve seen it, but it doesn’t matter; I still laugh until I cry every time I watch it. Literally nothing about this movie makes sense, but it doesn’t matter because it’s still amazing.
Normally, I would be very hesitant about a movie sequel so long after the original. But after watching Anchorman 2, I do’t know… I just trust Will Ferrell. The dude knows how to be in a good movie sequel. It got me thinking about other movie sequels that actually don’t suck because, let’s face it, most of them do. Most movie sequels are just made because Hollywood executives are trying to milk a movie for as much money as possible. But every once in a while, a good sequel comes out, giving us all hope that not every sequel will ruin the gem that was the first film. Here are ten movie sequels that are actually worth watching… and may even be better than the original? Nah. But they come pretty close (Oh, and these obviously don’t include Marvel movies or series).
