Bella Hadid Responds to Haters Who Skinny-Shamed Her on Instagram

By  |

In case you were unaware, Bella Hadid will be strutting her stuff in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The supermodel even took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of one of her fittings for the show, sporting black undies, a black push-up bra and thigh-high snakeskin boots.

Unfortunately (yet unsurprisingly), some of the model’s followers took to the comments not to celebrate the fact that she’ll be walking again this year, but to shame her for being too skinny. NOT OKAY, PEOPLE!

At first, Bella simply captioned the images saying, “@victoriassecret fittings today. i can’t wait for you to see all of the beautiful outfits… i’m so grateful to be a part of the show again, feeling happier and healthier than ever.”

Sadly, the photos elicited several nasty comments regarding her weight. One person, for example, wrote, “Sad. Eat some ribs, and then maybe we won’t have to see so many.” Someone else said, “She looks like a skeleton,” with another adding, “That body makes me cringe. You look hungry.”

Clearly, body shaming comments like these help absolutely no one, and they clearly got to BH because she later edited her caption to say, “All body types are different and react differently to a great workout routine and a healthy diet.”

Luckily, though, not everyone in the comments was a hater. There were also a bunch of people who chose to compliment the 22-year-old’s body rather than bash it. For example, one fan wrote, “It’s simple. You’re beautiful, you’ve worked hard for what you have. Rock that body… you’re killing it!!!”

Several other fans seemed to echo that sentiment as well, saying things like, “stunning” and “beautiful just the way you are.” How sweet!

TBH, as long as Bella’s happy and healthy and living her best life, we’ve gotta say: the body-shamers simply have to go!
