8 Celebrities Who Starred in Music Videos Before They Were Even Famous

By  |

It’s not unusual to see the likes of Katy Perry and Ke$ha in music videos now, but these eight current celebrities found their ways into ’em before they were even famous!

1. Katy Perry — Two years before the release of “I Kissed A Girl,” the song that skyrocketed KP to fame, she cameoed in Gym Class Heroes‘ “Cupid’s Chokehold” (2006) with then-boyfriend/GCH lead singer Travie McCoy.

2. Kesha — Speaking of “I Kissed A Girl” (2008), the singer who used to have a dollar sign in her name made an appearance in the video for it! This was shortly before joining Flo Rida on “Right Round” (though, she decided against starring in that particular music video), and a year before “Tik Tok” hit the airwaves.

3. Minka Kelly — You can find Minka in Puddle of Mudd‘s “She Hates Me” (2002) — that’s four years before Friday Night Lights!

4. Channing Tatum — 2006 was THE year for Channing, starring in She’s the Man and, of course, Step Up. That’s roughly six years after Ricky Martin‘s “She Bangs” (2000), which CT has a small cameo in.

5. Jennifer Lopez — We can thank Selena for J.Lo’s true rise to stardom, but we’re sure Janet Jackson‘s “That’s the Way Love Goes” (1993) music video four years before helped her career at least a little bit.

6. Mila Kunis — Okay, so people knew Mila by the time Aerosmith‘s “Jaded” music video came out in 2001 (thanks to a little TV series called That ’70s Show), BUT she was nowhere near as famous as she is today.

7. Angelina JolieBrad Pitt‘s now-wife starred in Girl, Interrupted, which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, a Golden Globe Award AND Screen Actors Guild Award for, in 1999. That was two years after she appeared in The Rolling Stones‘ “Anybody Seen My Baby?” (1997) video.

8. Zooey Deschanel — Talk about being the ‘new girl’ — The Offspring‘s “She’s Got Issues” (1998) marked one of the first-ever gigs for the actress.
