Barack Obama Covers Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” (Kinda) & Will Get Serenaded By Darren Criss

Admit it. You can’t get Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” out of your head, no matter how hard you try. Ever since Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and more celebs appeared in their own music video for the song back in February, it seems like the ultra-catchy tune has taken on a life of its own.  Is it just us or does it seem to play every time a radio turns on?

Now, it’s another celeb’s turn to jump on the “CMM” bandwagon, and we’re pretty sure you’re going to love it.  Self-proclaimed mashup artist, Baracksdubs has just released a hilarious vid of President Barack Obama singing Carly’s hit song — kinda.  The video takes clips from presidential speeches that Mr. Obama has given in the past and edits them together to make him sing a very autotune-y version of “Call Me Maybe.”  Okay, so maybe Obama isn’t technically singing, but it’s the thought (and the laughs) that count, and you can bet that we haven’t stopped watching.

In other presidential news, Pink was supposed to perform for the pres on Wednesday evening at a fundraiser gala, but she is currently undergoing medical treatment for stomach problems and won’t be able to attend. Stepping right up last-minute to take her spot, however, is none other than our fave Glee star, Darren Criss!  He tweeted:

“:) So bummed I’ll have to miss my dental appointment to sing for The US President Wed night. thanx @Pink for messin that up!! #greattiming

No worries, though, Darren was just kidding and later thanked Pink for the opportunity and for letting him sing her songs on Glee.  Aw, what a guy.

So, what do you think about this hilarious video? What song would you like to see Obama ‘cover’ next?  Are you excited to see what Darren sings for the president?
