7 Terrible Life Lessons We Learned From Wizard of Waverly Place’s Alex Russo

By  |

If you thought Hannah Montana taught some bad life lessons, wait until you reflect on another Disney Channel favorite — Wizards of Waverly Place!

Although we all love Selena Gomez, it’s not a stretch to say her character, Alex Russo, was one of the worsts when it came to teaching young viewers good morals. Think about it — Alex was the queen of sass, deception and meddling! No. Bueno. Here are some of the worst…

1. Be selfish. No matter what the situation, it seemed like Alex was only ever thinking of herself. Remember when she drank both halves of the love potion? Look how well that turned out for her…

2. Lies are better than the truth. No matter the episode, there was a 99 percent chance Alex told a lie in it. And, on the rare occasion she was being honest, it was as a way to make a dig at her brothers Justin and Max. It was almost as if her first instinct was to lie as opposed to just being truthful. Yikes!

3. School isn’t important. Alex isn’t ashamed to hate all things that have to do with school/learning. Not only does she make fun of Justin for liking to read, but she consistently gets Fs and Ds in her classes. Yes, sometimes her parents get angry, but it was never enough to really change her attitude.

4. Disrespect your elders. Whether it was to her parents or her teachers, Alex had no problem saying exactly what was on her mind. Even if that something was more than a littlle disrespectful…

5. Make fun of your siblings. No matter what Justin did, Alex was always making fun of him. And we totally understand that siblings bicker and tease each other, but Alex never really seemed to be able to suppress her taunting, even when Justin was trying to be honest with her.

6. Be lazy. From using magic to do her homework to laying on the couch all day, laziness was Alex’s specialty. Hey, at least she admitted it! If only that made it better…

7. Make questionable food choices. Forget eating healthy — Alex Russo was all about eating whatever she wanted whenever she wanted it! Uhh, not such a good plan…
