Teen.com’s Ultimate Back-To-Campus Playlist

By  |

It’s here. Back to school. The season that we dread all summer long. But guess what? With a little help from 10 of our fave new songs, we think you’ll get through September just fine. Check out all the fall singles you should have on your back-to-school playlist. (You’ll save money by buying just one song and not the whole album. You’re welcome.) We think each one is perfect for class, doing homework, and celebrating the weekend.

And PS, you can even win one free song download by entering the Walgreens Back-To-School sweeps!

MORE: Peep what songs made it onto our summer playlist!

1. Rihanna, “Cheers”
This song is all about celebrating the weekend, and after a long week of school and tests and homework, all we can think about is sleeping in and doing nothing. Amen to that.

2. Rebecca Black, “Friday”
And speaking of the weekend, there’s no better way to ring it in than with Rebecca Black’s “Friday.” Just don’t blame us if your teachers get mad that you’re singing it in school all day, every day.

3. Ke$ha, “Shots on The Hood Of My Car”
But if it’s the summer you secretly miss, Ke$ha’s latest song is the perfect cure. OK, fine, we’re not endorsing underage drinking here, but put on the song for a sense of summer nostalgia. And then maybe eat a popsicle or something. For old time’s sake.

4. Chris Brown, “Look At Me Now”
This song has no relation to school whatsoever, but we’re obsessed with Chris, Busta and Wayne’s different rapping styles combining into one song. It’s sort of like a Chemistry experiment. Or something.

5. Selena Gomez, “Love You Like a Love Song”
But if love songs are more your speed, make sure you’ve got Selena’s latest on repeat-peat-peat-peat. The video’s cool too. Just sayin’.

6. Taylor Swift, “Story of Us”
And speaking of love songs, what’s a playlist without some T.Swift, right?! “Story of Us” is our fave of her songs right now, mainly because the video takes place in a school library with a hot guy. Put it on during your next study sesh and maybe you’ll get a romance out of it, too.

7. Beyonce, “Countdown”
It’s not a single yet, but we’re basically fortune tellers and are telling you “Countdown” is the next song to be released off B’s album, 4. It’s catchy and is the perfect tune to jam to while walking (or dancing) from class to class. You’ve been warned.

8. OK Go, “All Is Not Lost”
These dudes amazed us with that treadmill vid for “Here It Goes Again” and amazed us just as much with their new song and vid, “All Is Not Lost.” The video is like looking into a kaleidoscope but like, with peoples’ bodies instead of little beads. Plop it on your iPod and use the vid as a way to get your crush’s attention. It’ll work. Guaranteed.

9. Demi Lovato, “Skyscraper”
Demi’s new album comes out right around the time school starts, and we can’t wait to hear more singles from her. But in the meantime, put “Skyscraper” on your playlist if you need an ego boost or just want to hear an amazing ballad from an even more amazing Disney-star-turned-total-inspiration.

10. LMFAO, “Party Rock Anthem”
And then, when all is said and done? End your playlist with LMFAO’s number one song, “Party Rock Anthem” to start your weekend off with a bang. House party not included.
