Ariana Grande Predicted She Was Gonna Marry Pete Davidson 2 Years Ago
Pete Davidson says knew he was going to marry Ariana Grande the day he met her, which sounds — let’s be honest — pretty freakin’ insane. But while the “God is a Woman” crooner apparently called his bluff when he said, “Hey, I’ll marry you tomorrow,” she actually predicted marrying him three years ago.
“We never exchanged numbers or anything. We weren’t even like friends for the longest time,” she tells Jimmy Fallon about meeting her now-fiancé back in 2016 when she hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time. “But I had the biggest crush in the whole world on him the whole time, like forever. Like, my friends used to make fun of me for it, all that stuff.”
While the 25-year-old says she’s “not a crushy person,” something inside her made her tell her tour manager that she was going to marry the 24-year-old.
She recalls, “I left his writers’ room when we were writing skits and stuff for the show, and my tour manager was in the hallway, and I’m not a crushy person, like I don’t have crushes on people I don’t know, but I left and I like jokingly said to my tour manager, ‘I’m marrying him. 100 percent. I’m literally marrying him.’ And we weren’t even friends [at that time].”
Ariana and Pete started “hanging out” for real in May 2018 and there was an instant connection. In fact, the musician wrote “pete davidson,” an interlude in which she calls him her “soulmate,” just a week after they started dating.
“I just made it and I sent it to him, and I didn’t know what to call it, so I just called it ‘Pete,'” she explains. “It was either going to be that, or ‘This Is About Pete Davidson.’ I was like, ‘Why not?’ You know? You should be direct.”
Pariana — a love story for the ages.
