Ariana Grande Makes Heartbreaking Statement After Mac Miller’s Death
Ariana Grande posted a picture of ex-boyfriend Malcolm McCormick, better known as Mac Miller, shortly after his death, but waited until today to make an official statement. The 25-year-old singer finally spoke out about the tragic passing of the rapper on her Instagram just minutes ago and what she said will absolutely break your heart.
Ari uploaded a never-before-seen video of the 26-year-old, who was found dead from an apparent drug overdose on September 7 and wrote a paragraph expressing her love and sorrow.
“I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will,” her caption begins. “I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. So many times.”
Mac struggled with drug and alcohol abuse for years and, according to one of his best friends, Ari was always a huge supporter of his sobriety.
Shane Powers said on his podcast earlier this week, “There could not have been anybody more supportive of him being sober than Ariana. I saw that, I was around it, I took phone calls from her. ‘How do I help? What do I do?’ This little girl was unbelievably involved and helpful to him being healthy. […] There was no one in his life more ready to go to the wall for him when it came to him being sober.”
Ariana is not only dealing with sadness over her ex’s death, but also anger and guilt that she couldn’t “fix or take [his] pain away.”
“I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do,” she continues. “You were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. Rest.”
We cannot imagine what the “God Is a Woman” crooner is going through right now. Hopefully her friends, family and fiancé Pete Davidson are helping her get through this devastating time.
