Ariana Grande SCHOOLED J.K. Rowling on Wizarding Spells & It Was Epic

Today may be Hermione Granger’s birthday, but another studious witch is stealing the attention. Ariana Grande showed off her Wizarding World of Harry Potter knowledge when she expertly schooled the queen J.K. Rowling herself!

J.K. Rowling is the person we have to thank for bringing Harry Potter to life and giving us one of the best franchises to ever exist. It seems like every year we have a new addition the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and we never want it to end. Whether she is revealing another secret about Hogwarts, Jo is known for sharing and interacting the most on Twitter — like when she announced that Dumbledore was gay, or apologized for killing off a beloved character, her 140 characters are not something you want to miss.

Although we still may not totally forgive her for killing off Tonks and Lupin, we are grateful for the insight she has given us. Just yesterday, she tweeted out a self-reassuring message along with a picture of a huge spider trapped under a clear cup.

While the spider may not have been as big as Aragog, we definitely understand the need to remove it from the door. We just hope that Ron Weasley didn’t see the tweet! Most fans were chiming in commenting on how big the spider was, but never fear, Ari is here! The 24-year-old “Side to Side” singer conjured up a spell that even J.K. Rowling may have forgotten about.

Quoting the tweet, Ari added the words “arania exumai,” which is actually an incantation of a spell used to blast back acromantulas or other large spiders! (Harry used the spell in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when he and Ron are seemingly trapped in the Forbidden Forest.)

Ariana is a HUGE Harry Potter fan and has been vocal about her love for the series for years. Back in 2014, she told everyone “when in doubt…. reread the entire harry potter series,” and in 2016, she showed off her custom-made jean jacket that had Dumbledore’s Chocolate Frog card embroidered on the back:

Arania exumai? More like ARIANA exumai. Oh, how we crack ourselves up.
