Ant-Man and The Wasp is Not the Infinity War Follow-Up You Were Hoping For
It’s no surprise to hear that Avengers: Infinity War is dominating the box office. Just look at all the records the superhero-filled movie’s Hulk-SMASHED! With Hollywood heavyweights such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, plus Josh Brolin as lead antagonist Thanos, it’s easy to see why.
But, while everyone was in a war against Josh’s character, there was one superhero (well, two, if you count Jeremy Renner‘s Hawkeye) who was noticeably absent from all of the action: Ant-Man. Last time we saw Paul Rudd‘s pint-sized alter ego, he was fighting the good fight in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, so you’d think that he would’ve been a part of Marvel’s biggest film. Alas, he wasn’t, so many expected to find out why in this summer’s Ant-Man and The Wasp… but they’re in for a rude awakening.
The trailer just debuted, mere DAYS after the release of Infinity War. HOWEVER, the events of the Paul Rudd flick take place prior to the shocking events of last week’s blockbuster, so you won’t be getting any sort of information as to the aftermath of Thanos’ destructive use of the Infinity Gauntlet.
But we’ll take what we can get. After all, Ant-Man and The Wasp will hopefully answer why Ant-Man (a.k.a. Scott Lang) did not participate in A:IW. The film flies into theaters on July 6. Until then, watch the trailer above!
